So, close your eyes!
There is documentation suggesting that this quote is frequently misattributed to Christopher Columbus, and is a variant of “One doesn’t discover new lands without consenting to lose sight, for a very long time, of the shore” quote by a French author and Nobel Prize winner in literature in 1947, Andre Paul Gide. If you have any other information of this fact or, you simply like the quote and do not care, please comment. I like the quote and believe that proper credit should be given to the rightful author. However, I do not think that this should prevent us from enjoying the wisdom and inspirational value of it.
